New Heritage (Louisburg Barracks, Bordon)

The New Heritage development site replaces the former Louisburg Barracks, situated between Station Road and the A325 at the northern edge of Whitehill and Bordon Town.

The site was originally built at the turn of the 20th century to Field Artillary Regiments. The barracks were later vacated as part of the Ministry of Defence plans to centralise facilities and was taken over by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Barratt David Wilson Homes worked in partnership with the HCA to secure Reserved Matters consent, which was granted in 2016 for a scheme of 500 dwellings (including 20% affordable homes), public open space, access and parking, ancillary works and the retention of the historic Amherst House for the provision of 4 apartments.

Construction remains ongoing on the site.
